Drawings 2010-2015

In 2009, I went back to Cuba after a 15 year long absence. This trip inspires “Familia”, a large format work in which I combine acrylic paint, pencil, and India ink. I use the same technique for the triptych “River woman – Desert woman – Naked woman”, and “Ideal world I, II, and III”, as well as for “The wood”, a smaller format work. In these works, I seek to superimpose the overall view and hidden detail, in an ironic dialog between outer surface and background, inviting the spectator’s eye into a to and fro between scrutinizing look and overview.
