L'Ecritoire design Halloween 2017
Halloween imagery includes references to harvest (pumpkins, shafts of wheat, dried flowers) as well as references to death and the other world (skeletons and skulls, ghosts and haunted houses, tombstones, representations of the Grim Reaper, but also vampires, monsters, witches, demons, animals of the night such as owls, bats, or crows, vultures, black cats, spiders ...). With these two drawings of skulls, I wanted to transmit the spirit of Halloween, that is to say, this mixture of mockery of death and fear of death. I also wanted these skulls emptied by death to serve as housing for creatures who make us laugh. As a counterpoint, the little squash coquettishly dressed in black want to seduce us ...
Above all, I tried to give these Halloween windows a real beauty, avoiding any form of bloody monstrosity or sardonic sneer.
